How to make money from affiliate programs

Affiliate marketing is awesome because it can make you real good cash. Affiliate program makes more cash than another contextual advertising program makes. You shouldn’t look forward to make penny when you literally can make several hundred dollars promoting affiliate programs. But how do you make it work for you?

To make affiliate marketing work for you, you need more and more traffic to fuel your sales. Without traffic you are going nowhere. Well there are two Different sort of affiliate marketers out there.

- The experienced marketers and the newbie’s.

I don’t think I can give any advice to all the experienced affiliate marketers out there ( rather can take advice :D) but I would like to drop a few words for the newbie affiliate marketers out there.

SEO for affiliate marketing

SEO is kind of a pain in ass but as well as helpful. Proper seo will bring you more sales in future. According to jim karter, Create a landing page or a conventional HTML site to promote an affiliate program. Or you can use blogs starting from free subdomain blogs to hosted wordpress blogs. But it is better if you have a WP blog hosted under a domain name. Wordpress is the best blogging platform and you can always do tweaks to your blogs. Get a good skin for your blog and you are all set. Installation and maintenance of a wp blog is very easy.

• Write 20 articles and submit to article directories (ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, isnare.com etc…)

• Create 5 blogs for 5 related keywords. Similarly create 5 squidoo pages for 5 long tail keywords and link them to your affiliate program. The more pages the better it gets.

• Look for different traffic sources like yahoo answers, forum signatures, blogs etc.

• Write articles on EzineArticles. EzineArticles is a good source of free traffic and will help you to get a good constant search engine traffic.

• Try facebook and other social network sites to profit from it.

• Look forward to profit from free advertising. Now don’t ask me, although there literally are hundreds of thousands of them out there, I too am looking forward for a good free advertising program that converts

• Try bum marketing to make quick and long term sales.

PPC

Beside the fact that PPC is a tight game and if done wrong PPC can suck your bank, PPC is a very good method that can make you tons of $$ if done properly. There are those super affiliates who make killing online doing proper PPC marketing. PPC and affiliate marketing is the sweetest combination and it is the ultimate thing a good affiliate marketer looks forward to play with. But you should learn the system, the pro’s and the cons before you wet your toes with PPC. Be patient, loosing several hundreds of dollars is very normal and consider yourself extremely lucky if you don’t lose around $300 initially.
