Google Adsense, New Sliding/Scrolling Text Ads

After a long test period Adsense finally have launched all new scrolling ads to all CPC text ads. Here is the announcement on Adsense blog. These ads have been appearing on many of my sites with little arrows at the base of the ad units which allows viewers to scroll forward or backward to see more ads. Here’s how they look.

I know what you are thinking, nope you don’t get paid when ever your readers click the arrows or scroll through ads but as your readers are scrolling through ads, chances are they might click an ad if they see one that is more relevant to them.

Although I wonder if this will improve eCPM but this is indeed interesting. The arrows are pretty small yet visible to who ever is paying attention to. My guess is it will increase the number of ads viewed without increasing the number of ads clicked.

Well, whatever makes me more money!
