Search engines are content hungry, always looking for fresh and quality content. It’s because search engines are always updating. Conventional html sites don’t update that fast a blog can be updated. Blogs are easy to get listed and ranked by search engines for competitive keywords.

Niche blog compared to general blogs

General blog means the blogs that cover a lot of different topic and they get updated on those subjects. Niche has only one or very few topics to cover. The blogs that cover a lot of different topic find it difficult to rank well on search engine. As niche blog covers only one or very few (2-3) topics and as they get updated on a regular basis, they end up with a good search engines ranking over that topic. It is easy to rank well on a particular topic even with a single post!

How can you profit from niche blogs?

A lots of ways you can make a niche blog profitable, just to cut it short, pick a topic and a product that has an affiliate program with good commission. Ask yourself to find out if you can blog on that topic on a constant basis? A blog is a dead tool without quality content and updates.

If you want to sell an acne product, create a blog on how did you solve your acne problems and how others can too.

I can’t stress enough about how important keyword research can be. Keywords are the meat of a niche blog. Before you do the keyword research put yourself in the shoe of your visitors. Think about what you want to know and what keywords you would have been using if you were looking for the right product to cure your acne problem. This will give you some idea and the rest, you will find out when researching keywords.

• Pick a domain that contains the principal keywords

• Try to avoid dashes

• Avoid chat language, e.g.acneproductz.com. Although these domains are easy to find, they give poor impression which you don’t want for sure

Blog out loud and you will slowly increase your earning.
