Too many affiliate marketer’s are out there trying to make some bucks from affiliate marketing but makes too little. Why? I’ll try to get you some answer and I’m going to keep this one short and sweet.

Finding out a profitable niche is very important for your affiliate business. How do you find out one? A little market research can reveal goldmines.

A few good advices will be:

• If you are a member of an affiliate forum like wickedfire.com, look around if anyone talking about a product that is selling hot right now

• Search other forums like digitalpoint or you can google up for more

• Health niche is always hot, just find out a product that other affiliates are doing good with.

• Talk to someone who’s already making good bucks and find out what he promotes

• If you are into big networks like CJ, Azoogle etc, when you find a good product, ask the advertiser or your affiliate manager whether top affiliates are promoting the product via PPC and if they do, how much do they make?

• Incase of a product you are thinking to promote on PPC check out this blog post!

Now that you have the product, there are a few more things that you need to do. You already know that the product sales well but you need to figure whether that niche is already saturated. Find some keywords related to the product. You can use keyword discovery or any other keyword research tool you like. Pick a handful of good keywords and google them to find out the competition. Be unique and brainstorm about the product and pick a few long tail keywords. Something like: if you are into aloe vera products, try “what aloevera pills can do for me” etc. If the long tail keywords return anything under 600k, you found the perfect product to start right away.

Article marketing perhaps is the most important aspect of affiliate marketing. If you are not into PPC the only way you can make good buck is article marketing. If you are promoting a niche with not too many competition, article marketing will get you good sales every month for sure. Making to the 1st page of Google for a selected low competition niche is easy. But the main thing to consider is the keywords you are targeting. Target wrong keywords and you will see no sales.

People and my pals often ask me how to write a quality article that search engine will be in love with? The answer to this question is pretty simple and probably has been answered a few thousand times already. But again let me drop you a few insights.

Write your article with just 1 keyword in mind. The more keyword you add the more the chance it won’t make to the desired goal. I don’t recommend more than 2 keywords. If you were wondering, I don’t write an article for more than 1 keyword.

Do not put the keyword for more than 5 times within the article.

Do not put the same keyword more than 2 times in a single paragraph.

Remember you are not writing only for the search engines but for your visitors too. Your article should make sense. Put some sub headings and bullets just so your readers can quick scan to get what’s up.

If you are promoting PPC (Pay Per Click), let your PPC campaign to tell you what keywords convert well. You can put up a new campaign and find out the right keywords. This however can be costly if you aren’t experienced enough.

The final and the most important tip is to build a landing page or a site for your offer that can convert. Building a site or a landing page is easy but you need some trials and errors to make it convert like crazy.

• Pick a domain that contains the principal keywords

• Try to avoid dashes

• Avoid chat language, e.g.acneproductz.com. Although these domains are easy to find, they give poor impression which you don’t want for sure

But it is better if you have a WP blog hosted under a domain name. Wordpress is the best blogging platform and you can always do tweaks to your blogs. Get a good skin for your blog and you are all set. Installation and maintenance of a wp blog is very easy.

• Write 20 articles and submit to article directories (ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, isnare.com etc…)

• Create 5 blogs for 5 related keywords. Similarly create 5 squidoo pages for 5 long tail keywords and link them to your affiliate program. The more pages the better it gets.

• Look for different traffic sources like yahoo answers, forum signatures, blogs etc.

• Write articles on EzineArticles. EzineArticles is a good source of free traffic and will help you to get a good constant search engine traffic.
