Being a noob sucks sometimes. You get to learn too many things and sometimes it is hard to figure what’s up. PPC CPA isn’t different, even worse you have to shell out your hard earned cash to learn how PPC works and how you can profit from it.

Creating websites, finding out the perfect niche, watching over your campaigns can be difficult. The most difficult part is to build a website and to edit it and to watch over your campaigns. How about we skip the website creation and all the content creation process and try to find out some gold?

How about direct linking campaigns to promote an offer or a product?

The beauty; Direct linking requires no website. All you need to do is find out a product, start a campaign and find out whether the product converts good or bad.

Building a website is the worst nightmare for an affiliate. It is such a pain in the ass! My first website took me 2 weeks and a lot of editing. You need to learn HTML, PHP and stuffs like that; you need to learn how to edit templates with the editors and how to put them up online. You need to check out if everything is good; you need to edit the mistakes and blah blah blah.

So what’s direct linking?

Direct linking is you simply put your affiliate link in the destination URL of your ad campaign, simple as that. I know what you are thinking, YES this works and works good for the newbie’s. There are those affiliates I know are already making good conversions with direct linking method, however this surely isn’t a long term method for sure. You can learn the system, and gain some knowledge with the method. The best part, you don’t have to go through the hassle of putting up a landing page and worry about the quality score.

How cool is that anyway?

Just keep your commissions greater than your click costs and up you go! So find out join a CPA network. Find out a product that makes sense or if you can, try to find out someone who is already converting the product. Ask you affiliate manager for a list of 10 good converting offers with their epc.

Join msn adcenter or yahoo search marketing or should I say, google adwords.

Use the keyword tool of google adwords or keyworddiscovery.com or word tracker or anything you name it to dig up a nice broad keyword list
Build a campaign and start bidding anywhere between $0.10 – $0.20.

Check for the keywords that are converting that find out the keywords that aren’t converting or performing poor.
Clean up junk keywords.

Track everything including keywords. Use SubID or anything, ask your affiliate manager for more.

Up your bids, if you are getting zero traffic. If you are getting loads of traffic and no conversion, the product or offer you are promoting, sucks. Leave it and find another.

If you are getting traffic and sales, this is the product you should be looking forward to make more money from. Optimize your keywords and ads and make it profitable.

This method however, is only useful to find out profitable niches and to learn PPC. For long term profit, you should definitely build some landing pages and improve from there. For some products, the possibility of google slap is high but other products will do well. Profit is all depending on the offer and the niche by the way.

Yahoo probably isn’t anywhere close to Google but there still something there. Yahoo provides good volume and it is possible to make good profit from yahoo. You can use some common method to bring in some success with yahoo. Below I tried to give you a few advices just so you can profit from it.

Quality Score: Work towards any means to get a 5/5 quality score. Such a high quality score will enable you to pay much lower $$ per click than anyone else. The key is, group your ads in a small group of related keywords. Find all the ads that not on the first page and all ads with excessive impressions but no or too little clicks. Fire those keywords out your campaign.

Research and get a lot of keywords related to the niche you are promoting currently. Use different keyword research tools, I use Wordze, Google Adwords tool and KeyWord Discovery. The keyword tool provided by Digital point is another nice one.

Think out of the box. If you are promoting weight loss, try to find hidden gold by bidding on keywords like: ‘look fresh’ or something that makes sense. Think about the demographic, It works!

Research your competitors: Be a little evil, check out some landing pages of your competitors on popular keywords and try to find out what they are up to! You wont believe what you might find out!

The final advice would be NOT TO GIVE UP! No matter what, you should never give up. Lots of potential affiliate marketer give up every day, they could make fortunes if only they didn’t given up! Here goes the golden advice again: “Don’t quite digging 5 minutes before you find the goldmine”.

Okay now that I have covered the bad things and don’t on the previous post, its time I’m going to look at budget saving methods of affiliate marketing. Although SEO is the best method you can look forward to build long term traffic for your niche site, PPC is indeed an effective time consuming method.

Every affiliate marketer should look forward to be a PPC master and there are ways you can build a great campaign on a low budget.

Slow and Steady

Patience, my friend is a great virtue. There are a lot of ways you can make money on a limited budget, doing it slowly is the only best option available. Set your daily budget at what you can afford. Do modifications to your keyword list if needed. It may take a much longer time to accumulate data and optimize but it’s worth waiting.

Utilizing the vouchers

You can always find those free vouchers to start with. Yahoo is always offering free voucher options so that you can learn the system without shelling a lot of bucks. Keywords

Don’t always go for the first place of google. Sometimes being in 3 rd or 4th place makes more sales than in 1st position. It is a lot cheaper too. Look for the long tail keywords that is related to your product or describes your product very precisely. Try to utilize the negative keywords, may be you can find the goldmine with them.

Cheap traffic sources

I don’t think free advertising is the way to go. You can start with them but they are of no use. I have tested a few of them but had no luck at all and can’t say free advertising will do the job PPC does. When it is about affiliate marketing, It’s about quality and targeted traffic which is hard to find with free advertising.

It can be time consuming and costly to run a campaign but testing and tweaking the system is the way to go. Don’t give up. Work on your campaign, look for new keywords, edit your landing page if needed and know you are all set right after you get the first sale.
