Write For EzineArticles, Bring In More Traffic

Wassup fellas?

I almost didn’t post this! Just because today is the first and the most beautiful day I had for a long time and I just wanted to go out and fart around (!) :D but oh well I’m a blogger which is why I’m thinking… you get the valuable information for free!

Okay enough talking lets read the post instead…

Did anyone ever tell you how EzineArticles.com can bring you more traffic? Well EzineArticles works really good in order to bring in more traffic and rank well on search engines. Having a good article on EzineArticles will bring you good traffic years to come.

What is EzineArticles.com?

EzineArticles.com is an article directory. Article publishers submit new and unique articles in order to rank well on search engines and bring in quality traffic. It is a good place to promote your affiliate products and can indeed provide you quality traffic instantly.

Why should you submit new articles?

Submit new and unique articles on EzineArticles, seat back and watch how traffic flows in. EzineArticles is good to provide quality instant traffic. Write a good, keyword focused article and chances are you might hit the Google page 1 for that keyword. Well I have several articles on Google page 1 and page 2 for a few keywords and I receive good amount of traffic from them daily.

Tips to write a good article

Writing a good article is easy as hell. EzineArticles has a few rules and regulations and they are very much strict about their rules. You don’t follow the rules you don’t get your articles published. Although the rules are fairly simple, you should however follow them.

  1. Write unique article. Copy paste job wont work.
  2. Do not provide nude affiliate link or anchor affiliate link.
  3. Do not write crappy article that is not readable. Write the way so your readers can read it.
  4. If you are targeting one keyword, look forward to put it one or two times on every paragraph.
  5. Do not write like you are promoting a product. EzineArticles don’t like sales copies.
  6. No profanity, pornographic and violent content is allowed.
  7. Don’t mess your article with too many keywords.

Before I write a new article for ezinearticles I do a little research on keywords and pick up a keyword or a key phrase that doesn’t have high competition on google. I use the key phrase as the headline of the article and place the same key phrase one or two times on every of the paragraphs. However you can follow the simple but effective tips below

  1. Do not write long and boring paragraphs.
  2. Break your long paragraphs into short 3-4 line paragraphs.
  3. use sub headlines just so your readers can guess what’s going on by having a glance.
  4. write for humans.

I sometimes Google out for a key phrase and try to find out whether there are any articles listed on the first two pages of google for that key phrase. If I find a good article, what I do is simply rewrite the article with more flavor added. I follow my own way to make the article unique from the original one. I write more sub headings and give out more points and add more information to the article. Now that’s not plagiarism because you are writing an unique article which is 100% unique with the help of an existing article.

Hope this helps. Just if you have any question, the comment section of this blog has enough space to accommodate you.

Draw StumbleUpon Users to Your Blog

Has anyone told you that StumbleUpon rocks? StumbleUpon can send you more traffic. Unlike digg and del.icio.us your item doesn’t need to become popular before you get immediate traffic. One or two votes can potentially bring in hundreds or more readers instantly.

So how do you bring more StumbleUpon users? Well I’ll try to get you some tips so you can work yourself out.

Channel Surfing The Internet

Don’t you flick through TV channels back and forth until you find something interesting to watch? StumbleUpon users are, however, notoriously fickle. StumbleUpon is basically a service that allows its users to channel surf the internet. The decision whether to say on your site or move else where is taken within the first 3 seconds. This is why you need to make sure you have at least something that can make them stay at your blog.

Let Your Visitors Know What Your Blog Is All About

This is important. Try to define it with a one or two sentence description of what your blog is all about. The title should communicate a lot of information in only a few words. If a stumbler finds the subject is within his interest he will more likely to stick around.

Visual Impression

Having an interesting image or an interesting video can always attract the eye balls. I figured fancy heading images or images with cash and ladies are good to attract attention.

Having Valuable Content

The thing that really matters after heading and catchy images should be the content of your blog. Your users will only be available for a while and will leave if your content is crap and offers no good read. While surfing through the TV channels do you stay on a channel that offers nothing to watch? So try to have valuable content that can make an user sticking to your blog.

A Nice Theme

No matter what another dumb from the street says, a nice theme is always a magnet. Having a good clean theme helps your visitors to feel comfortable to stay. Don’t mess your blog with too much graphics, ads and stuffs like that. Nobody likes a blog full of crappy advertisement. A blog full of crappy advertisement only gives poor impression which sure you don’t want.

Be Unique

Every one likes unique stuffs. Being unique will allow you to be a hero and will get you more traffic. Do you know why superman is that much popular? Because he wears his underwear outside which is indeed an unique thing to watch! :D

How To Find More Readers For Your Blog?

Every newbie blogger has a question and possibly the most frequently asked question among the bloggers is: how to find new readers to your blog?

There are quite a few answers to this question. So lets check them out!

Content
Content is king. Blogging is all about writing and content. If you don’t write good content you are going nowhere. Content makes the visitors coming back for more. Both visitors and google love fresh and high quality content.

Effective Post Titles
The title of your blog post should be eye catching, to the point and simple. Write the title in a way so the reader can guess the insider of the post. Visitors are always in a hurry and you have to have something magical that can attract their attention within first 3 seconds.

Social Book Marking and Social Networking
Social book marking is the way to grab quick attention. Submit your story to Digg, reddit and to as many other book marking sites as possible. Submit the stories regardless of whether it makes the front page or not. Submit and you get 50-100 free hits, it is by far the easiest way to generate quick exposure on blogsphere.

Comment On Other Blogs
Commenting on other related blogs is probably another effective strategy in this process. Responding to comments that other people leave on your blog encourages them to keep coming back. Writing interesting or witty comments often get people to click through to see your site.

Forums
Contributing on forums related the blog niche is another good way to grab interested and hungry readers. I figured it’s a very quick way to infuse readers to a new blog is to be active in discussion forums related to the blog topic. Google for the forums that relate to blog niche and participating on the threads help to bring in more readers. Locate threads that ask for help with something you may be familiar with and share your experience. This way you build your reputation and even you can make few $$$ by throwing them your affiliate link.

Persist
Persistence is another key. Quality traffic doesn’t happen over night. It takes some time to build reputation and good reader base.

Connect With Other Bloggers
Connecting is simple. You get good relationships with other bloggers by simply posting some comments on their blog posts and giving some good advices. This is a win win situation. You give him comments, you get return comments, trackbacks, backlinks, interested visitors inspired by your interesting comments and most importantly you get a blogger friend who can come up with good advices when you are in need.

Trackbacks
Try to leave as many trackbacks as you can. Trackbacks are live links and good for SEO. Just if you are wondering, leaving trackback is easy as hell. All you have to do is refer a quality post from another blog in your blogpost with a link to that blog or blogpost. You will have a backlink on the comments section within no time.

Give Away Free Stuff
Everyone loves free. Free gets the buzz. Give away free gifts to your readers, seatback and watch the traffic flowing in. Free gift could be anything like free wordpress templates to free ebooks.

Search Engine Optimization
Optimize your blog properly and you can boost your readership. Many bloggers have reported lately that they were able to boost their readers 25-30% by properly optimizing their blogs for search engines.

Frequent posting
Other than the content, blogging is all about frequency. The more you post the more readers you have, as simple as that. I try to post frequently but due to certain circumstances I find it difficult to post on a regular basis but I try to keep contents coming in every 2-3 days.

Get links from other blogs
Getting mentioned on other sites and blogs in the same niche or from a popular blog will get you few hundreds to even thousands of readers.

Entrecard
Entrecard sends me 10-50 visitors every other day. Grab some credits, wait for a while and buy a spot on famous blogs. Waiting for the ad is worth it.

Search Engines
Lets face it, search engines can bring you incredible amount of visitors but you have to be working really hard for that. It takes time to get ranked on search engines. In the meantime you should enjoy 20-40 visitors from search engines every other day.

Want free advertising on the biggest blogs for a day?

Have you heard of Entrecard? Entrecard is the brain child of Graham Langdon, the owner of the Million Dollar Wiki. The basic idea is to exchange business cards with other blogs. You can grab free advertising to other blogs if you play it cool.

barefly-entrecard.JPG

How does it work?

Install the Entrecard widget on your blog. You need to create your account first. Choose the most suitable size and design. I’m running the 250×127 wide widget. This widget allows other Entrecard users to drop their card and you get one credit for every card dropped. However I received 4 credits for dropping my first card! Well I’m still trying to figure that part out. Credits can be earned by dropping cards to other blogs that has Entrecard widget installed and by other blogs buying an advertising spot on your blog.

The ad price is based on how many people dropped their cards on your widget and how many cards you have dropped already. You need to build credits in order to get your blog showing up on popular blogs. However you might have to wait for a few days to grab your place on popular blogs even if you have enough credit. And the button shows for one day only! Before you want to grab an ad spot on johnchow.com, you need to have around 97 credits and a waiting period of 13 days!Control panel

Well it is really easy to use once you get used to it. Credit information is mounted on the left of the panel and along with other stuffs you get the information about your ads, sites you bought advertising from and sites that want to buy advertising on your blog.

What’s in it for small bloggers?

It can be one of the coolest tools to promote your blog for free. How would you like it if your blog gets a shot on popular blogs for 1 day? As credit builds by the other bloggers that drop their card, it can be a cool source of traffic. If you drop me your card, the next thing I have in my mind is to drop my card on your Entrecard. However there is a question about the quality of traffic. Well I don’t mind if another blogger visits my blog to drop his card. If he likes my content, he will come back no matter what.

So far how is it doing on my blog?

It’s doing great I think. I received 7 credits and 3 advertisers that bought my ad space within 5 minutes! You should join Entrecard right now and visit my blog to drop me your card :D

Don’t you think it would be a lot easier?

So start promoting your blog and don’t forget to come back tomorrow for tomorrow’s list.

Install Alexa toolbar to increase Alexa ranking.

When I have submitted my blog on alexa.com for a ranking, alexa gave me a traffic rank of 8532568 and I figured I have to do something about it and decided to install alexa toolbar giving a think if it could increase my site ranking. Well it did! It worked like a charm!
I have started to see noticeable changes on my site ranking. Within 2 days - my site ranking changed into 5635763 and in 5th day it’s down to 3785293!
I’m sorry I couldn’t take any screen shot, that’s because I wasn’t prepared for the rapid change. But this time I have one. You probably don’t need the screen shot if you have the alexa toolbar installed. But again if you don’t have it, check out my current traffic rank.

alexa-ranking.JPG

I know it’s not a big change of rank but considering the age of the blog, it’s a good isn’t it?
So uhh does the toolbar help? YES OF COURSE IT DOES! But don’t keep your ass glued there and don’t stop to promote on social Bookmarking sites and to the directories. Otherwise the toolbar will be of no help. Keep the toolbar running whenever you maintain and track your site. The toolbar counts every of your visits as a traffic source and you will see noticeable changes to your ranking.
Oh by the way, don’t forget to drop me the ranking updates of your blog, I would love to hear if my tip had put you out of the probation period :D
